Entitlement to apply
PhD students from the following organizations are entitled to apply:
- Swiss Universities
- Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences
Requirements
Funding is provided to cover expenses for a PhD project (e.g. data acquisition, lab costs) with a strong focus on health economics or health policy. The PhD project must be single-authored by the PhD student or co-authored with another junior researcher. Expenses that are part of a sponsored project will not be covered.
Eligible costs
Applications may be submitted for coverage of fees to access secondary data, data collection expenses, cost of survey-based data collection, use of computer/experimental lab, development of online tool for data collection/experiment, etc. The salaries of the applicants, conference expenses and publication costs are not eligible for funding.
Costs are covered up to a maximum of CHF 8000.
Application
Applications are assessed once a year. The published deadline applies.
Please send your application to project-funding@sggoe.ch, providing the following documents:
- Research plan (max. 2 pages, including requested funding)
- Curriculum vitae of the applicant and potential co-authors
- Statement of the University, that the costs cannot be covered via internal funds, co-signed by the PhD supervisor.
Assessment
The sggö board is responsible for the academic assessment and decision.
The applications will be ranked based on the scientific quality of the research plan.
Payment
In the event of a favorable decision, the sggö will reimburse the costs upon receipt of proof of payment.
Obligations of the beneficiaries
The beneficiary shall mention the sggö as funding body. The beneficiary shall send proof of the completed dissertation paper to the sggö.
Deadline
The deadline for the 2024 PhD Project Fund is on the first of June (01.06.2024).
