The conference aims at bringing together researchers, policy-makers and practitioners to showcase and discuss cutting-edge research and emerging ideas in health economics. The theme of the conference is «Health Economics and Health System Reforms». Submissions related to this theme are particularly welcome, but proposals from all areas of health economics will be considered for inclusion in the program.
The conference will take place on September 14, 2018 at the University of Lucerne.

Prof. Elias Mossialos
Elias Mossialos is Professor of Health Policy within the Department of Social Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and Director of LSE Health. He is also Professor of Health Policy and Management and Co-Director of the Centre for Health Policy at Imperial College London. His research interests concentrate on health systems and policy, addressing questions related to funding of health care, private health insurance, pharmaceutical policies, the impact of EU law on health care systems, cancer care and policy and antibiotics.

Prof. Mandy Ryan
Mandy Ryan is Professor of Health Economics at the University of Aberdeen and Director of the Health Economics Research Unit (HERU). Her main research interests are in the field of contingent valuation and discrete choice experiments. She has worked with academics, government and the pharmaceutical industry and has published widely in the field of health economics generally, and monetary valuation more specifically. She has extensive teaching experience, and currently contributes to HERU’s annual expert Discrete Choice Experiment Workshop. In 2012, Prof. Ryan was ranked amongst the top health economists in the world based on her publications in health economics and citations of her work.
